More about the initiative:
Greenpeace leads a worldwide campaign to save the Arctic. The campaign aims this unique and beautiful landscape to be declared a protected territory without oil and industrial fishing.
The idea of the exhibition is to show the beauty of the Arctic – but also its vulnerability to the appetites of corporations to exploit its resources.
With this exhibition we want to defend the principles of peaceful protest – the possibility to peacefully defend something we believe in . Freedom to fight for a better future for us and our planet . Freedom of speech. Freedom of thought. Freedom. Freedom.
A month ago, the ship of Greenpeace – Arctic Sunrise was seized by Russian authorities after a peaceful protest of drilling rig of “Gazprom ” . Currently 30 people – crew , activists , photographer and freelance cameraman are in Russian prisons in Murmansk .
The exhibition will be deducated to the 30 brave men and women who resisted the most powerful corporations in the protection of the Arctic and our climate.
